Day 1

Arrive Dublin

You will be greeted on arrival at Dublin Airport by your local driver/guide. You will undertake a panoramic city tour of Dublin before checking in to your city centre hotel. The remainder of the day and evening is at leisure.

Day 2

Dublin City Highlights

After breakfast you will undertake a tour of Trinity College and view one of Ireland’s finest National Treasures, The Book of Kells. Then it is off to the Guinness Storehouse where you will enjoy a guided tour, and the art of pouring the perfect pint at the at the Guinness Academy. This evening you are free to enjoy dinner at a fashionable restaurant, or perhaps indulge in some local fayre at a local pub.

Day 3

Curragh of Kildare & Medieval Kilkenny

This morning we travel through the Curragh of Kildare for a guided tour of the Irish National Stud, the Horse Museum and Japanese Gardens. We will continue our journey to medieval Kilkenny and on arrival take a tour of the 12th century Kilkenny Castle. This evening you are free to roam the medieval cobbles at your leisure.

Day 4

Cork & Kinsale

Leaving Kilkenny, we travel south to Cork, with a stop in the Viking city of Waterford where we will undertake a guided tour of the Waterford Visitor Centre. We continue our journey to County Cork, where we will taste the ‘water of life’ on an informative tour of the Old Midleton Distillery, the home of Jameson Whiskey. After savouring the whiskey, we head straight for the pretty fishing village of Kinsale, known as Ireland’s Culinary Capital. Kinsale is famous for its fine array of restaurants, and we encourage you to indulge in some local fayre while you are here. Dining suggestions include Fishy Fishy, Finn’s Table and Bastion.

Day 5

Cobh and Spike Island

This morning we travel to the Victorian village of Cobh (once known as Queenstown), the last port of call for the ill-fated Titanic. We will visit the Titanic Experience where you will be given a replica ticket with the actual name of a passenger travelling on the ship before you embark on a journey tracing his or her fate. We will then board a cruise to Spike Island, once the oldest convict prison in the world. This evening, we embark on a foodie walking tour of Kinsale. Enjoy a course at 4 different local eateries with a guided tour of the town.

 

Day 6

Kerry Kingdom & Dingle Peninsula

This morning we head west to the Kingdom of Kerry with a stop at Blarney Castle where you may wish to kiss the stone of eloquence. We continue to Dingle, a vibrant fishing village, where you will have time to shop for handcrafts made by local artisans, grab a bite to eat in a friendly café or enjoy a pint in a local pub. This evening you are free to further explore the town and its array of fabulous dining options.

Day 7

The Cliffs & Galway

This morning we journey north along the Wild Atlantic Way to Doolin where we will board a cruise on the Atlantic Ocean to view the mighty Cliffs of Moher. Following this, we will visit the largest of the Aran Islands, Inis Mor, where a local guide will meet you as you disembark and take you on a fascinating tour of the island. We continue to Galway where you will undertake a guided walking tour of The City of Tribes before checking into your hotel. Galway is known for its lively pubs, where there is sure to be a traditional session or two on any given night of the week.

Day 8

Connemara

After breakfast we travel into the wilds of Connemara. We will first enjoy a guided tour of Kylemore Abbey, a monastery founded in 1920 for Benedictine Nuns who fled Belgium in World War 1. This evening you are free to continue to explore the spirited nightlife of Galway.

Day 9

County Meath

Today we will head cross country to County Meath with a stop in picturesque Athlone, located on the shores of the River Shannon, near Lough Ree. Here we will visit the birthplace of Irish Whiskey, Sean’s Bar for a tipple and a light lunch before arriving at our hotel. This evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner as a group in our castle hotel.

Day 10

Tour Ends

After a final hearty breakfast, a group transfer will take you to Dublin Airport for your flight home
